Minimum Price: AUD $ 25 Offering affordable accommodation on Hook Island, the Wilderness Resort features a cafe/restaurant, historic underwater observatory, water sports, beach side swimming pool, a bar and a national park environment. A transfer available each day to reach the Island and their is camping - ensuite accommodation on the Island. Hook Island Wilderness Resort is the ideal destination for those wanting to experience the wilderness first hand. Easily accessible via the daily transfer departing Abel Point Marina at 9am. Plenty of water sports are available to entertain everyone, the fringing reef is immediately off shore for the snorkellers and their is an onsite bar in which you are able to meet skippers, crew and passengers of passing boats. All accommodation has shared facilities except for the Ensuite rooms.
Meals: There is a camper’s kitchen with basic facilities available, but is for campers only. We also serve a continental breakfast for $7 per head between 7.30-9.30am we have a cafe that serves lunch between 12 -2pm that has a variety of meals ranging from $5 to $16.50 and dinner is between 6 - 8pm and all meals are under A$20.00. We also cater for kids and special dietary need so there’s always meals to suit everybody. We have a great cook who is always baking something scrumptious and we promise you wont go hungry here!
Bar: YES! We do have a bar! The Bare Foot Bar is open all day from 10am till late and there is a variety of cold beverages (both alcoholic and non- alcoholic) to quench your thirst. As well as “$6 cocktail of the day” which is always popular!
Children: We do have an underwater observatory that the children often like, together with snorkeling, volleyball, a pool table, a swimming pool, kayaking and lots of games on hand if this helps. We can also whip them up a nice fruity mocktail at the Bare Foot Bar while the adults relax with something a bit stronger!
Water Sports: We have a watersoprts hut with plenty of snorkels, stingersiuts, flippers, all included if staying in standard, ensuite and dorm rooms. Our friendly Watersports staff will have plenty of fun activities for you in store, as well as the reef explorer (semi submergible submarine) which can also take you to ‘coral gardens’, a well known snorkeling spot in the whitsundays. There a Kayaks you can use and fish feeding daily at the underwater observatory.
What to Bring: Camera, Bathers, some warm clothes. There is a gift shop which has merchandise for purchase as well as basic needs such as toiletries, insect repellent, batteries and disposable cameras. For Camping you will need to bring your own tent, linen or sleeping bags etc. and cooking utensils if you wish to use the campers kitchen
